“Meaningful travel can be for kids, too!”
Wouldn’t it be neat to hear your child say that? Crooked Trails travel programs offer cross-cultural journeys into the life of indigenous people in villages around the world, creating cultural exchanges that offer visitors and hosts the opportunity to share in each other's lives. We believe kids can get just as much as adults from making a friend in Peru, India, Kenya or elsewhere.
Family programs are tailored to families with children ages from one to young adult. Offering a slower pace and rest times every day, these programs give little feet and distracted adults enough breathing time to enjoy a cultural exchange in a safe community setting.
Days will be spent exploring the outdoors, historic sites and other attractions. The highlight of the program is a homestay in an indigenous village. Times when the kids are with nannies will be arranged so the adults can enjoy some adventures on their own.

“As we set out, we were bit nervous, wondering what to expect and if this trip to Kenya and the Maasai village would be too much for young Jack. As our red-robed warriors met us at the airport in Nairobi, one of the taxi drivers picking up arriving passengers told me, “Your friends there – those are the REAL Maasai!” But our three warriors, Maloke, Kwenya and Norpoppet became our companions and friends as they accompanied us everywhere. Our visit to Merrueshi and the Simba Camp was a most memorable experience - and everyone is asking for a return visit! One of the favorite parts of our stay in the village was the morning nature walks. The trip was fantastic in every way.“
