A decade ago on the very first Crooked Trails program to Thailand, participants asked if there was something they could to in the community that was of need. We asked the village headman and he replied “Yes, we very much need a community center where we can all meet. Right now everyone piles into my home and you can see it is not large.”
Therein began the service projects that are now an important part of all Crooked Trails programs. Our first project was the center in Pang Sa, Thailand, and have since worked on a variety of projects including refurbishing schools in Nepal, constructing school rooms in Kenya, and establishing community-based tourism programs in communities in Asia and the Americas.
Our motto has always been to ask what is needed and make it happen. This is in large part why our projects have been so varied included everything from schools to hygiene and web site design. It is also why we raised thousands of dollars for victims of the Peru Earthquake and the Tsunami ravaged Thai island villages.
Currently we are raising funds for the projects below. Should one strike your fancy, please Donate! All donations to the projects (and to Crooked Trails) are tax-deductible.
Of course, you aren’t limited to donating from afar. Consider a Crooked Trails travel program that takes you to the scene, where you can donate your skills and labor alongside your funds. |
