A graduate of Dartmouth College and Cornell University Medical School, Terry Rogers received his postgraduate training at the University of Washington, specializing in pulmonary and critical care medicine. For many years he was director of pulmonary and critical care medicine at Swedish Hospital Medical Center in addition to maintaining a private practice in pulmonary medicine. Subsequently, he became senior medical officer and then chief operating officer for Regence BlueShield. He currently serves as medical director on a part-time basis for three different organizations, including Lakeside-Milam Recovery Centers, where he is physical and medical director. He is a past president of the Washington Thoracic Society, as well as a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Washington. The proud father of five children, he first encountered Crooked Trails as a chaperone for his youngest son’s school travel program, an experience that he still thinks about on a daily basis years later. He has traveled extensively throughout the world, including trips to Europe, Mexico, and New Zealand, as well as to Bahrain and Dubai to visit his daughter and her family. An avid kite surfer, Terry is also an accomplished singer and musician and plays in a Dixie music band.
